One way to make cleaning paint brushes easier is by wrapping a 2-1/4" wide strip of masking tape around the metal portion of the brush. Allow the tape to overlap the bristles about 3/4". This helps to keep paint out of the connection point.

When you're ready to paint again, just remove the plastic and you can begin again. Keep in mind that after each use, you should clean out the screen and bucket before the paint dries.
